A 6-week program preceded by 4 days of explicit individualized instruction designed to appropriately balance the three components of fitness: mind, body, and soul.  This balance is using the mind (intellect) to properly train the body in order to nourish the soul’s innate desire to succeed.  The synergy created between these components allows for peak athletic performance.

This 4-day per week training regime is targeted for males and females preparing to enter the 7th and 8th grades.  This program will teach individuals the proper technique in all three major Power Lifts (squat, bench press, deadlift) as well as the basic premise and proper execution of Explosive Movements (power clean, push jerk, power snatch).  Since control and body awareness are essential to great athletic performance, Plyometric exercises – activities requiring jumping and multiple changes in direction of body movement – will be used along with detailed sprint work on an outside running track to enhance agility, speed, and coordination.

The activities and exercises taught in this program are very closely related to those activities and exercises that are highly favored by high school coaches in all sports.  The main purpose for this camp is to prepare middle school athletes to enter their perspective high schools with a better understanding of what is expected of them in regards to mature athletic capabilities.
